Questions, answered

How much should I charge for a sponsored post in 2026?

The working market norm for creators is $10–25 per 1,000 followers for an Instagram Reel, $5–15 for a TikTok video, and $20–40 for a dedicated YouTube video — before adjustments. Engagement above 3% justifies the top of the range; below 1% you should expect the floor. Never quote below your format's minimum flat fee, no matter your size.

Is the “$100 per 10k followers” rule still accurate?

It's a floor from the static-post era, not a ceiling. Video formats command 1.5–2.5× that baseline because production effort and watch time are higher, and strong engagement pushes further. Creators who quote $100/10k for a Reel in 2026 are undercharging by half or more.

How much does engagement rate change what I can charge?

Roughly ±30–45%. Brands increasingly buy outcomes, not reach: a 30k creator at 6% engagement routinely out-earns a 100k creator at 0.8%. If your ER is strong, say the number out loud in your quote — it's your single best justification for the top of the range.

Should usage rights and whitelisting cost extra?

Always. Organic posting is what your base rate buys. Paid usage (the brand running your content as ads) adds 30–50%, whitelisting through your handle adds 50–100%, and exclusivity windows roughly double the fee per 30 days. Bundle nothing — each is a separate line on the quote.
